Where Jesus' Love is Lived!

Stewardship

It is time for our Church's yearly emphasis on “Giving” to God to support God’s Work through the Otsego United Methodist Church.  See this year’s emphasis “Giving All You Can” explained below.

As the Church Finance Team prepares the 2012 annual Church Budget, please pray for them and for God’s guidance in being responsible stewards of our Church’s finances.  Your giving to God through our Church is very important as our Church uses the financial resources you provide to reach out to our community and to our world with the Love of God demonstrated through Jesus Christ.

2012 Giving/Tithing Commitment Challenge
“Giving All You Can”
In recognizing God’s ownership and my stewardship of all that God has blessed me with and wanting to express my Thanksgiving to God through “Giving All I Can”

I, _______________________________, choose to tithe (give 10%) of my income to God through the Otsego United Methodist Church
or
I, _______________________________, choose to increase my giving to move toward the Biblical goal of tithing (give 10%) of my income to God through the Church.

I, _______________________________, commit to pray for the Otsego United Methodist Church that God provides for the financial resources necessary for the Church to accomplish the work God’s has for it to do.

Giving All You Can

This year’s Church Giving emphasis will come from the Bible Verses in Mark 12:41-44.  In that Bible story, Jesus commends a woman for her giving because, although she only gave a small amount, she gave all she could give.  Biblical Giving is always most fully demonstrated in sacrificial giving, giving all you can.  This year’s giving challenge will be called, “Giving All You Can.”

Pastor Joe will preach a sermon from the Bible Verses in Mark 12:41-44 on the first Sunday in November (November 6) highlighting how the woman in the Bible Story set an example for God’s People by giving all she could give.  On Sunday, November 20, during our morning Church Services, people will be able to hand in “Giving/Tithing Commitment Sheets,” (above) committing to God that they will strive toward Biblical Giving (Giving All They Can) as they relate to their own finances.

Jesus talked more about a person’s relationship to money and possessions than any other subject.  Our giving is in response to Jesus’ teachings and in response to Jesus’ actions, giving His own life for us.  As Jesus gave all He could for us, we are challenged to give all we can for Him.
